My last week in Norway and last slide! I attended a neighborhood picnic for St. Hans, or midsummer's night, at the home of Barbara and Svein-Ivar (who you saw in the May 17 parade). Although the longest day of the year is probably June 21 or 22, it is celebrated on June 23 with picnics and bonfires. It was difficult leaving Norway a few days later (June 30) because the days were so long and the weather the best of the whole year.
